Birin Winery

Winery Birin, although relatively new to the market, upholds a long family tradition of viticulture and olive growing. For generations, they cultivated land with Mediterranean crops, but the vine remained at the heart of their story. Their vineyards once produced high-quality grapes, yet the full potential of the wines was often not realized. To achieve top quality, they simultaneously began planting new vineyards and building a modern winery. Today, they produce six wine labels, with an annual production of 20,000 liters, equating to around 25,000 bottles. Their vineyards are home to indigenous varieties of the region: Debit and Maraština among whites, and Plavina, Lasin, and Babić among reds. The underground cellar, spanning 160 m², provides ideal conditions for wine aging, and the winery also offers wine tasting experiences. They own a total of two hectares of vineyards, with 1.2 hectares consisting of young vines, while the rest are older vineyards, some over 50 years old. All vineyards are planted on red soil with a small percentage of stone, giving their wines a distinct personality compared to those grown on white soil or pure rocky terrain.
