Brid Winery

Brid Winery, located in the Vrgorac wine region, is a garage winery that does not own its own vineyards but carefully selects grapes from trusted cooperators. This approach ensures the selection of the finest fruit, achieving top-quality wines. The winery’s goal is not mass production but preserving passion and adventure in winemaking, with a limited capacity of up to 40,000 liters per year. The estate vineyards are in Vrgorac, covering 2 hectares, with 3,000 vines of Sauvignon Blanc and 2,000 vines of Trnjak. The remaining grapes come from cooperators in the Vrgorac field. Special attention is given to Kujundžuša from Imotski, while Plavac Mali, as Dalmatia’s finest red variety, is sourced from the Pelješac peninsula. The current selection includes four labels. The premium label, Brid Paullus, is a Bordeaux-style blend where Trnjak softens Plavac Mali’s tannins, while Plavac Mali adds complexity and aromatic depth. The wine matures in French and American oak barrels. Brid Prima Cura, meaning “first care” in Latin, is made from the indigenous Kujundžuša variety. Brid Trnjak is a varietal wine from the native Trnjak grape, while Brid Sauvignon Blanc is one of the rare Sauvignons produced in Dalmatia, using a unique berry-picking method. New labels are in development, including Rose Lux, a blend of Grenache, Merlot, and Plavac, as well as an orange wine from Kujundžuša, aged in Slavonian oak barrels. The winery’s tasting room is located near Omiš, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the winemaking process and compare fresh and aged wines. A special highlight is the tasting of red wine aged in bourbon barrels.
