Figurica Winery

Figurica Winery is located in the heart of Ravni Kotari, in Smilčić, on loess-rich, fertile soil ideal for viticulture and fruit growing. It produces wine exclusively from its own vineyards, preserving authenticity and tradition through a modern approach. After conventional production, the winery dedicated itself to organic wines, strictly controlling the yield to ensure top quality—although the winery’s capacity is 70,000 liters, production is limited to around 35,000 liters per year. Mladen Anić spent ten years searching for the forgotten indigenous variety Svrdlovina, which his ancestors once planted alongside Plavina to enhance the quality of wine. His efforts resulted in the preservation and revival of this variety, which is now recognized and used by other winemakers. Today, the Figurica winery cultivates about 3,000 vines of Svrdlovina, and its vineyards span eight hectares with approximately 35,000 vines, all under certified organic cultivation. Figurica wines encompass a wide range of grape varieties, each reflecting the unique terroir. The selection includes Maraština, Rosé (a blend of Svrdlovina and Syrah), Svrdlovina from the 2020 harvest, Cuvée from the 2019 harvest (a mix of Syrah, Crljenak, Svrdlovina, and Plavina), Syrah from 2019, and Crljenak from 2020. Each wine tells the story of the past and future of Dalmatian winemaking, offering an authentic expression of the region from which it originates.
