Gašpar Winery

Winery Gašpar, located in the village of Umčani near Vrgorac, proudly celebrates 15 years of dedication to winemaking. Since 2009, brothers Dario and Boris Gašpar have been cultivating 14,000 vines, focusing on indigenous Vrgorac grape varieties. They have devoted special attention to reviving and promoting Zlatarica, an ancient variety that Dario passionately presents at wine events and among experts. Their vineyard has become a popular destination for oenologists as well as domestic and international wine enthusiasts. Their selection includes four premium wines: Zlatarica Vrgorska 2023, Rosiva 2023 – a refined rosé, Plavka 2020, made from the Plavina variety, sourced mostly from a vineyard planted back in 1952, and Trnak 2020. Annually, they produce 12,000 bottles but their ambitions don’t stop there. Encouraged by the market’s positive response, they aim to increase production to 25,000–30,000 liters of bottled premium wine. In addition to their indigenous wines, Winery Gašpar also takes pride in its 2017 cuvée, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Plavina, capturing the richness and character of the Dalmatian terroir.
