Kunjas Winery

The Kunjašić family from Smokvica has a centuries-old tradition of viticulture and winemaking, which is now successfully continued by grandson Ljubo, an agronomy graduate. Over 300 years ago, his ancestors built a stone house on a hill in the center of Smokvica, overlooking the Pošip vineyards, where the Kunjašić family lived until 1982. In 2000, the family began their own wine production, and their first bottled wines were released to the market in 2005. Today, they cultivate four hectares of vineyards in Smokvica on the island of Korčula, growing indigenous grape varieties such as Pošip and Pagadebit.
