OPG Mijo Uroš Winery

Fifteen years ago, driven by a desire to restore old vineyards and revive the winemaking tradition in Konavle, Mijo Uroš and Lenko Monković began their wine journey. At that time, Lenko opened the now-iconic restaurant Vinica in Ljuta, located on the site of the former Monković family wine cellar. To mark their partnership, the first premium wine they produced was named MONUR – an exceptional blend of Merlot and Zinfandel. The name of the wine was created by combining the first syllables of their last names – MON (Monković) and UR (Uroš). Their wine story continues with the gradual expansion of vineyards in the Đer area, though with the intention of keeping production below 10,000 liters per year. Recently, they planted a thousand vines of Dubrovnik Malvasia, and their wine selection has expanded to include new labels, featuring the indigenous Pošip, Dubrovnik Malvasia, Rosé, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery is located in the Dubrovnik region, in the village of Gruda, where tradition and passion for winemaking come together to create exceptional wines.
