About winery
The family farm of Nada and Tihomir Šimunović from Glavina Donja, located in the Imotski region, experienced its big moment in 2018 when their white wine Kujundžuša from the 2017 vintage received the certificate of top-quality wine. This award was a huge satisfaction for the family and all the winemakers of Imotska Krajina. The Šimunović family began establishing their vineyards in 2005, planting vines of Kujundžuša, Vranac, Merlot, Trnjak, and Cabernet Sauvignon on 1.5 hectares. Their first recognition came in 2008, and since then they have been collecting successes at local and regional competitions, including gold medals for Crni Šimun, Kujundžuša Barrique, and many other labels. Over time, they expanded their vineyard to 5 hectares with 25,000 vines and added new varieties such as Chardonnay, Žilavka, Pošip, and Syrah. They also built a large cellar with a tasting room for 50 people. After graduating from the Agricultural Faculty in Zagreb, their son, Ante Šimunović, took over the family business, becoming the head oenologist of the winery and continuing the tradition of success.
