The Škovrlj family name, with a tradition spanning over a hundred years, has decided to revive the family estates and restore viticulture on historic locations. These vineyards are situated on a plateau at 250 meters above sea level, near ancient mountain mines, which gives the soil unique minerals, ideal for producing premium wines. The family winemaking tradition was started by Luka Škovrlj, who won an award for his wine at a London exhibition in 1906. His son Ante, a graduated agronomist, continued the family tradition with numerous awards and recognitions. The new generation of winemakers, through the company Agro Promina d.o.o. founded in 2018, continued the process of land consolidation and planting new vineyards. The first vineyard, “Vinograd ANA,” was planted in March 2020 on 2.1 hectares of land in Vedrovo field – Razvođe. The vineyard features white grape varieties like Debit and Maraština, and red varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Experimental plantings of Pošip, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Crljenak were also introduced. Additional vineyard locations in Razvođe are currently being prepared to expand production. The family estates are undergoing renovation with plans to transform them into hospitality and hotel facilities, and a winery is also under construction. Through collaboration with top enologists and viticulturists, the family is constantly improving production, and their wines have already won numerous quality awards. They offer seven wine labels, many of which have won prestigious awards. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings at the winery, which also offers traditional home-cooked dishes made from produce from their own estate.
