Vinoplod Winery

Vinoplod, one of the largest producers of wine and strong alcoholic beverages in Dalmatia, was founded in 1959, when Šibenik gained a winery that would become a symbol of regional wine tradition. From the very beginning, the focus was on producing wine exclusively from indigenous varieties, aiming to convey the essence of Dalmatia through every drop. The first harvest took place in 1959, and in 1964, the first automatic bottling line was installed, from which came the iconic Jure – a blend of white varieties, the most famous table wine in Croatia and the first wine bottled on an automatic line. Recognizable by its label featuring a red cap and the wide smile of an old Šibenik farmer, Jure became a symbol of quality and tradition. In 1974, a new bottling plant and distillery were opened, and in 1984, the first premium wine, the Vrhunski Babić, was produced under the supervision of enological experts, becoming the trademark of Primošten, Šibenik, and all of Croatia. Despite the devastation of vineyards during the Homeland War, Vinoplod led the restoration and revitalization efforts. From 2003 to 2007, a significant development of viticulture took place in the Šibenik-Knin County, and the modernization of production began in 2002. New equipment for grape processing, fermentation, and rakija production was acquired, ensuring high quality and continuity in production. Today, the winery produces eight wine labels, among which Jure stands out as the most famous table wine in Croatia, as well as monosort wines from indigenous Dalmatian varieties – Plavina, Babić, Debit, and Maraština. In addition to wine, the winery offers a wide range of liqueurs and brandies, including the iconic Pelinkovac, Orahovac, and well-known Travarica.
