Vizzulin Winery

Vizzulin Winery is deeply rooted in the rich viticultural and winemaking traditions of two family lineages. One originates from Kaštela, a region renowned for its coastal bounty, favorable climate, and long-standing tradition of meticulous winemaking. The other comes from Zagora, a land defined by its rugged stone, demanding soil, and strong winds descending from Promina and Svilaja, where vineyards proudly adorn the landscape. This small family winery is located in the picturesque area between Drniš and the village of Badanj, on the Mijović estate, offering stunning views of Drniš, Petrovo Polje, and the slopes of Mount Promina. In 2010, 2.2 hectares of vineyards were planted on the southern slopes of Promina, at the very edge of Petrovo Polje, featuring carefully selected grape varieties—Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pošip, and Maraština. Merlot occupies 40% of the vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon 25%, Pošip 25%, and Maraština 10%, achieving a perfect balance between internationally recognized and indigenous Dalmatian varieties. This diverse selection reflects the winery’s vision—blending globally renowned varieties with authentic Dalmatian grapes to create wines that truly express the unique terroir of Petrovo Polje. The winery offers eight wine labels, with its Merlot from the 2017 vintage earning a silver medal at the prestigious Decanter competition. In addition to premium wines, the winery provides traditional local dishes made from fresh ingredients, including homegrown fruits and vegetables, as well as produce sourced from local suppliers.
