Žanić Winery

Žanić (Batovi) Winery, located near Split Airport, is becoming an increasingly recognized name in Kaštela winemaking. The love for viticulture and winemaking was instilled in brothers Karlo and Kristijan Žanić by their father Joško during their childhood, continuing a family tradition that spans generations. The vineyard in the Žabica area of Rudine, planted by their father Joško 30 years ago, still produces excellent wine. It was there that the brothers learned everything about pruning, fertilization, protection, and winemaking. After their father retired, they took over the family vineyards, continuing to nurture them with the same passion and dedication. They produce wines traditionally, as they were taught by their father. Their aged Plavac Mali received an impressive 85 points from enologists, a remarkable achievement considering that high-quality Plavac Mali is usually associated with island vineyards. In addition to Plavac Mali, they cultivate Crljenak, Pošip, Babica, Maraština, and Ljutun, recently planting an additional 500 vines of Crljenak. Annually, they produce around 3,000 bottles of wine. From this season, their offering will be enriched with a newly renovated tasting room, where visitors can enjoy their wines and experience the authentic winemaking tradition of Kaštela.
