Cmrečnjak Winery

Cmrečnjak Winery is today a modern winery equipped with state-of-the-art technology for grape and wine processing, offering as many as 17 different labels of premium wines on the market. Its story began with Rajko Cmrečnjak, who, through perseverance, hard work, and dedication, turned just a few vines into a true wine empire. The entire Cmrečnjak family is involved in the winery’s operations, and Rajko’s son Marko now successfully carries on the family tradition, crafting wines that appear on world wine lists and regularly win awards, including prestigious Decanter medals. In the early 1990s, the Cmrečnjak family ran a medium-sized agricultural estate engaged in various types of farming. With only 2 hectares of vineyards, they made a pivotal decision in 1992 to focus exclusively on viticulture and winemaking. That year, they filled their first bottle with their own label and received certification for geographical origin. They steadily invested in quality, expanded their cellar, and increased their vineyard area. Today, they cultivate 27 hectares of top-quality vineyards, including Mađerkin Breg—considered the finest vineyard site in Međimurje. The winery cellar spans 1,000 m², and their production philosophy combines tradition with modern technology. Their wine portfolio includes Pušipel, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Silvanac Zeleni, Muškat Žuti, Graševina, Rizvanac, Rajnski Rizling, and Merlot. They are particularly proud of their Decanter gold medal for the outstanding “Single Vineyard Pušipel Mađerka” from 2021.
