About winery

Coner Winery began its story in 2008 when Marijan Coner purchased land in Jabučeta with the idea of venturing into winemaking. A year later, he started planting white and red grape varieties on 5.5 hectares—Chardonnay, Manzoni, Sauvignon, Graševina, Traminac, Muscat Ottonel, Pinot Noir, Lovrijenac, and Zweigelt. Today, the winery spans approximately nine hectares across Jabučeta, Višnjevac, and a smaller vineyard in Sveti Trojstvo, acquired from winemaker Čačija. From the beginning, the focus was on selling wines through their own hospitality establishments—the Franz restaurant and Piaf café in Bjelovar, and the Barbati restaurant and apartments in Vidalići on the island of Pag. In recent years, new plantings have been introduced in Višnjevac, including 1,500 Chardonnay vines and half a hectare of the Scheurebe variety (Zemling—a cross between Silvaner and Graševina). A small amount of Portugizac is also grown in Sveti Trojstvo. The winery produces between 40,000 and 50,000 liters of wine annually and has received multiple awards, including gold for Graševina at Vinodar 2022, a gold medal in Zelina at the 2024 Northwestern Croatia Wine Exhibition, and the champion title in Budrovac 2024, also for Graševina. Adjacent to the vineyards, three high-category apartments and five rooms have been built. The winery offers wines made from Chardonnay, Traminac, Cabernet Sauvignon, Graševina, and Portugizac.
