Gregorić Winery

Gregorić Winery is located in the picturesque Plešivica region near Jastrebarsko, where the Gregorić family has been cultivating the tradition of viticulture and winemaking for generations. Their story begins with grandfather Vjekoslav, one of the first to plant vineyards, and was continued by his son Janko Gregorić. Janko cultivated vines in cooperation with the well-known Slovin winery from Brežice, where he sold his wines until 1990. In 1979, he planted one hectare of vineyard on the Lozica site with grape varieties such as Plavec žuti, Graševina, and Šipon. In 1990, he planted an additional 0.5 hectares on the Vrjut slope — at 350 meters above sea level, one of the highest points of Plešivica. This steep vineyard, extremely demanding to cultivate, today holds around 1,000 productive vines.
Željko Gregorić, who now runs the winery with his wife Snježana, renewed vineyard plantings in 2003 with 0.5 hectares of Graševina and Sauvignon. In 2006, at the Topolovec site, he bought and consolidated 17 parcels into 1.5 hectares, where he planted 0.5 hectares each of Portugieser, Riesling, and Graševina. Today, the Gregorić family cultivates approximately 18,000 vines, including leased vineyards at the Rogatec and Zamladina sites (0.85 ha). They obtained protected designation of origin certification in 1993.
The winery is best known for its Portugieser, though they also grow other varieties such as Graševina, Chardonnay, Manzoni Bianco, Pinot Noir, and Riesling. In recent years, the Gregorić family has turned more seriously to sparkling wine production. Notably, they were the first to launch LaPjen rosé — a sparkling wine made from Portugieser and several other varieties. They now also produce LaPjen made from a blend of white grapes, with a strong Riesling presence. Among their labels, LaPjen Classic Rosé 2020 stands out — a cuvée consisting of 85% Portugieser, along with Plavec žuti, Pinot Gris, and Riesling. Gregorić Winery skillfully combines family tradition, hard work, and innovation, creating wines that reflect the character of the Plešivica region.
