Griffin Ivančić Winery is located in the heart of Plešivica, a renowned wine region near Zagreb, in Jastrebarsko. Positioned at over 400 meters above sea level, on south-facing slopes ideal for grape cultivation, the winery benefits from perfect natural conditions. Its history dates back to 1773, when the Ivančić family received official permission to plant vineyards—a document later found in the attic of the family home. The griffin in the winery’s logo comes from the family coat of arms granted in 1759, when Empress Maria Theresa awarded them noble status. Today, the winery is led by winemaker Krešimir Ivančić. Although not formally trained as an oenologist, he gained extensive wine knowledge through numerous courses, mentorships, and collaboration with leading experts. He is a certified sommelier and a regular member of international wine competition juries such as Mundus Vini in Germany. His commitment to quality and innovation has earned the winery international recognition. The vineyards, located on the highest slopes of Plešivica, produce top-quality grapes. The winery cultivates Portugizer, Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, and Sauvignon Blanc. The fresh wine line includes three labels made from Müller-Thurgau, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Portugizer, while the aged wine line features two labels of Portugizer and Chardonnay made using the sur lie method. A special highlight is the sparkling wine collection—Griffin Zero, Griffin Brut, Griffin Rosé, and Griffin Dark Side. The exclusive Coral Griffin line was aged on lees for over two years at a depth of 20 meters on the Adriatic Sea floor. Alongside an intimate original tasting room, the winery also features a modern, newly opened space for up to 60 guests, ideal for wine presentations and events.
