Guštin Winery

Guštin Winery is located in Vrhovec near Ozalj, nestled among the picturesque hills between Krašić and Ozalj, near the Slovenian border. The Guštin family has upheld a tradition of viticulture and fruit growing for generations—there has never been a generation untouched by the vine. Although their agricultural estate was officially founded in 2009, winegrowing has always been a way of life, driven by love for the land and heritage.
Ljubica and Željko Guštin began planting new vineyards, and their son Lovro Guštin, a civil engineer by profession, now carries the legacy forward. Today, the family cultivates 3.21 hectares with 5,000 vines and operates a wine cellar with a capacity of up to 10,000 liters. They grow Graševina, Riesling, Yellow Muscat, Pinot Blanc, and the rare Štajerska Bjelina—a variety often overlooked but proudly preserved by the Guštins.
Lovro is committed to reviving nearly extinct native grape varieties unique to the Ozalj-Vivodina region. In collaboration with the City of Ozalj and the Faculty of Agriculture, genetic analyses revealed seven rare, unnamed varieties. Lovro has already planted 50 experimental vines and eagerly awaits their first harvest.
The winery currently markets its wines across Karlovac and Zagreb counties, reaching as far as Jastrebarsko. Guštin Winery stands as a blend of authenticity, tradition, and innovation, shaping a unique and sustainable wine identity.
