About winery
The tradition of winemaking in the Jakopić family is deeply rooted, with the first stamp on the winery given by great-grandfather Filip in 1908. Today, three generations continue this tradition in Železna Gora, where wines are created with love and passion. Filip was succeeded by Ignac, then Martin, and now the owner and manager of the winery, Branimir Jakopić, who has passed on all his knowledge of winemaking to his son. Branimir is assisted by his wife, grandmother, and grandfather, and his three sons, Filip, Martin, and Vinko, are yet to decide who will continue the family tradition. The wines of the Jakopić winery are internationally recognized, winning prestigious awards, including a platinum medal, gold, and two silver medals at the renowned Decanter World Wine Awards. On 14 hectares of vineyards, they cultivate varieties such as Graševina, Sauvignon Blanc, Rhine Riesling, Silvanac Zeleni, Muscat Yellow, Pušipel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot. These varieties produce top-quality wines that regularly win the highest awards at exhibitions and wine fairs.
