Jarec Kure Winery

Jarec-Kure Winery, located in the picturesque village of Biškupci near Sveti Ivan Zelina, carries on a centuries-old tradition of viticulture and winemaking. Its flagship product is White Pinot, the family’s most renowned wine, known for its distinctive quality and character. Renowned winemaker Stjepan Jarec, the founder of the winery’s modern legacy, also made contributions beyond the world of wine. He was one of the sponsors of the first Croatian scientific and mountaineering expedition to Tibet and the sacred Mount Kailash. As a gesture of support, he gifted the participants—students and professors of ethnology and Indology from Zagreb—with bottles of his White Pinot and Chardonnay. This generous act led to the creation of a rare and striking photo featuring these wines with the legendary 6,714-meter-high Kailash in the background. Today, the winery is led by Mirjana Jarec-Kure, daughter of Stjepan Jarec, and her husband Kristijan Kure. In addition to their acclaimed White Pinot, the winery also offers other distinguished varieties such as Chardonnay, Manzoni Bianco, Kraljevina, Syrah, and Pinot Noir. The winery also provides guided wine tastings for groups of up to 45 guests, offering a memorable experience that combines fine wines with the warm hospitality of the Zagorje region.
