About winery
Kalnik Agricultural Cooperative from the village of Kalnik boasts a rich tradition dating back to 1938. Today, it cultivates around 25,000 grapevines on the slopes of the Kalnik mountain, where ideal conditions support the growth of numerous grape varieties. The winery offers wines made from Muscat Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Blaufränkisch, Graševina, Riesling, and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as several carefully balanced blends. A special feature of the cellar is the impressive 8,000-liter wooden barrel, a gift from the last Croatian ban, which still stands as a symbol of the region’s deep historical connection to viticulture. With pride, the cooperative presents its new wine on the market – Frankovka 2017 by Kešer. This premium wine was aged for two years in wooden barrels and an additional four years in the bottle, developing a complex structure and elegant character. Its quality has been recognized by the Croatian Institute of Viticulture, making this Blaufränkisch a true representative of Kalnik’s winemaking heritage.
