About winery
Winery Klet Romić began its story in 1974 when the grandparents of Nikica Katić started producing wine in their vineyard beside their wine cellar in Kutina Slatinska. In 1980, they opened their cellar to guests, expanding their offerings to include homemade cured meats, roasts, and wine. In 2000, Nikica Katić officially established a family farm (OPG) and a business, continuing the family tradition with great enthusiasm and innovation. Klet Romić Winery is set in an idyllic location where visitors, surrounded by the scents of homemade food and the sounds of birds, can taste the indigenous Škrlet grape – the pride and symbol of the Moslavina wine-growing region. Winery cultivates 0.5 hectares of its own vineyards and manages an additional 2 hectares in cooperation with local growers. While the focus is primarily on the native Škrlet grape, they also produce Traminer, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Graševina. Among the winery’s highlights are: LaRita 2017 – a sparkling wine made from 85% Moslavac and 15% Škrlet, aged on lees for 36 months before disgorgement, Dragonada 2019 – a blend of Škrlet and Graševina, aged for 18 months in a used barrique barrel; the name “Dragonada” combines the names of Nikica’s grandparents, Ovnek 2018 – an orange wine made from Škrlet, macerated for an impressive 313 days, Škrlet 190 – a special Škrlet wine macerated for 190 days, also available from amphora (vintage 2019), Frankovka 2019 – a red wine in which the winery places high hopes, Graševina 2019 – an elegant representation of this well-known Slavonian variety. Klet Romić. Among red varieties, special attention is given to Frankovka. A particularly significant milestone came in 2019 when the winery produced a predicate wine from Škrlet – a selection of dried berries, further showcasing their dedication to quality and innovation.
