About winery
Kostanjevec Winery is a family-owned estate run by Kristina and Goran Kostanjevec, successful business professionals who, in 2007, decided to purchase a beautiful yet neglected property in the village of Lukovec, near Koprivnica. In 2010, vineyards were planted on 14 hectares of the finest slopes in the Podravina region and the Kalnik foothills, featuring varieties such as Graševina, Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon, Pinot Gris, Rhine Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon and Muscat. As production expanded, they began planning the construction of a winery and wine cellar in 2011, which was completed in 2012 and also includes a restaurant. Today, the winery offers four wine lines: Cuvee, Classic, Premium, and Sparkling, with a total of nine wine labels. The Classic line features wines with distinct primary aromas, freshness, and minerality, while the Premium line is reserved for special vintages that allow for the production of full-bodied wines with great aging potential, fermented with their own vineyard yeast. Sparkling wines are produced using the traditional method of bottle fermentation, and the range also includes wines made from ice harvests. The winery houses a modern cellar, tasting room, bottling facility, storage, on-site laboratory, and a restaurant with a capacity of 60 guests. International acclaim, including awards from the prestigious London-based Decanter, confirms the success of this wine story – in 2022 alone, they earned 20 international medals, a testament to the Kostanjevec family’s commitment and excellence in winemaking.
