Kunčić Winery

Kunčić Winery is located in Banfi, at the very edge of northwestern Croatia. The border with Slovenia runs through their yard, and from the winery’s terrace, there is a stunning view of Slovenia’s Pomurje region, with glimpses of Hungary and Austria in the distance. The family’s wine story began with Stjepan Kunčić, who planted the first vines in Banfi near Štrigova, laying the foundation for a winemaking tradition that dates back to 1859. Today, Ana and Dragutin Kunčić manage the estate, while their son Denis represents the fourth generation continuing this legacy. Modernization of the cellar and vineyard expansion began in 1998. Currently, the family cultivates 10 hectares of vineyards in northern Međimurje, using the single Guyot method with a strong focus on quality. Their wines include the blend “Štrigovske noći” and a wide range of varietal wines: Pušipel, Graševina, Rhine Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, and Yellow Muscat.
