About winery
On the first slopes of Bilogora, in the heart of Podravina near Đurđevac, lies the family-run Matočec Winery. This wine story has been led for over two decades by Nada and Marijan Matočec, with the support of their sons Dario and Marko. Although the winery was founded 20 years ago, the family’s winemaking tradition dates back to the 1960s. The vineyards are located on the sandy hills of Mali Kostanj, above the village of Mičetinac. This unique terrain, along with ideal microclimatic conditions, gives the wines their elegance and distinctive character. On five hectares of land, they grow Chardonnay, Graševina, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon, and Yellow Muscat. Matočec wines proudly carry the protected designation of origin “Vino s peskov,” registered with the Croatian Intellectual Property Office. At the prestigious 2022 Decanter World Wine Awards, the winery won silver medals for its Chardonnay and Pinot Gris Gold.
