Micak Winery

Micak Winery, located in Hum Bistrički, nurtures a rich family tradition of viticulture and winemaking that spans three generations. The foundations of the winery were laid in 1958 by grandfather Dragutin, and his son Ivan expanded the vineyards from 2,000 to 4,000 vines. Today, the winery is led by Mladen Micak, an agricultural engineer, with the help of his brother Marijo. The two brothers are responsible for expanding the vineyards with an additional 27,000 vines. Currently, 22,000 vines are in full yield, covering 11 premium grape varieties: Pinot Gris, Aromatic Traminac, Chardonnay, Grüner Silvaner, Graševina, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Yellow Muscat, Kerner, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. There are plans to plant an additional 10,000 vines of native or locally adapted varieties, including the traditional Kraljevina. The winery has a production capacity of 70,000 liters, and all wines carry a protected geographical indication and fall into the category of quality wines. Over the past decade, Micak Winery has won more than 20 gold medals at national and regional wine competitions. The current offer includes 15 wine labels, such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zweigelt, Rosé made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Graševina, Dijamant Pusa (a blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Traminac, and Grüner Silvaner), Grüner Silvaner, Sauvignon Blanc, Aromatic Traminac, Chardonnay, Croaticum, a specially selected Cabernet Sauvignon (Selekcija), and Darmol — a special blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The winery also offers wine tasting experiences accompanied by local culinary delights.
