Miklaužić Winery

Miklaužić Winery, located in Popovača, is where tradition meets innovation, creating wines that delight the palates of wine lovers around the world. The story of this winery begins with a deep passion for viticulture and a love for wine that has been passed down through generations. The Miklaužić family has been cultivating vineyards for the fourth generation, today covering 25 hectares of land, known for its specific grassed vineyard fields and ecological approach to grapevine protection and treatment. The winery was founded in 1978 and has been operating as a business since 2000. It currently employs five workers and has gained recognition for the quality of its wines over the years. The most prominent wine is Škrlet, an indigenous variety that has become a symbol of Moslavina. In addition to Škrlet, the winery offers other white varieties: Chardonnay, White Pinot, Moslavac, Graševina, and a Muscat blend called Dunja. Among the red varieties, Frankovka stands out, as well as the blend of Merlot and Pinot Noir named Crveno i Crno. Miklaužić Winery is not only focused on still wines but also produces sparkling wines under the name Glamour. The first vineyards planted by the winery’s founder, Ljudevit Lujo Miklaužić, have now become ecological vineyards. The Miklaužić family continuously works on preserving and improving viticulture in Moslavina, with one of the key projects being the clonal selection of the Škrlet variety. In collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture, three top clones – 29, 33, and 74 – have been selected and officially certified for planting, representing the pinnacle of the winery’s efforts to preserve and enhance the indigenous varieties of the region. Over the years, the Miklaužić cellar has undergone modernization but has always remained faithful to traditional methods. Today, it is a space where old and new meet, creating wines of the highest quality. The winery uses carefully selected oak barrels that add special notes to the wines, and aging them in ideal conditions ensures the perfect balance and character of each wine. Miklaužić Winery offers a wide range of wines, from fresh and light to aged and complex. The offer includes 11 wine labels: Plavac Mali, Glamour Rosé (from the Pinot Noir variety), Glamour White (sparkling wine made from the Moslavac variety), Cuve (a blend of Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Blauberger), Chardonnay, Ovnek Žuti (from the Škrlet variety), Merlot, Dunja (from the Muscat Yellow variety), Rosé (from the Pinot Noir and Škrlet varieties).
