Mikša Winery

Mikša Winery, located in the village of Repušnica near Kutina, has a long and rich history that began in 1936 when the first vineyard of the native Moslavina variety Škrlet was planted. Through over eight decades of experience, tradition, and dedicated work, the Mikša family has created wines that are the pride of this region. At the entrance to the winery, there is a commemorative plaque with a poetic quote from Croatian Anakreont, Dragutin Tadijanović: “I am glad that I was here, and not only here but also drank Škrlet,” reminding visitors of the poet’s visit in 2001, when, at the age of 96, he discovered the variety that Moslavina people are so proud of. The Mikša family boasts significant achievements in their history. In 1983, under the leadership of Ante’s grandfather Vladimir, the winery won a gold medal for the best wine of Moslavina at a competition in Sv. Ivan Zelina. This was the first gold medal that Škrlet ever received at wine competitions. The first commercial wine bottles were produced by grandfather Vladimir in 1991, and in 1995, Ante’s father, also named Vladimir, followed in his footsteps. Ante Mikša began his winemaking journey triumphantly when, in 2011, his first author wine, Škrlet, won a silver medal at the prestigious International Wine Challenge. Today, Mikša Winery spans 11 hectares of vineyards, producing around 60,000 liters of wine. The varieties they grow include Škrlet, Pinot Blanc, Graševina, Frankovka, and Pinot Noir. The winery offers five wine labels: Škrlet, Graševina, Pinot Noir Barrique, Pinot Blanc, and Frankovka.
