Novak Winery

Just a hundred meters from the Croatian-Slovenian border, on the edge of the village of Banfi, lies the winery of Boris and Danica Novak. Situated in a truly unique location, the estate offers sweeping views of the Štrigova wine region on one side and Slovenia’s Prekmurje on the other. In 2008, the Novak family built a new wine house with a modern, fully equipped cellar designed in a rustic style that reflects the tradition of the Međimurje region. Here, high-quality wines are crafted and aged—wines that have won the hearts of wine lovers and earned numerous accolades from wine experts. The old cellar has also been preserved, giving the wines an authentic Međimurje character. Boris Novak works closely with renowned oenologist Krešimir Hren in the winemaking process. The winery proudly offers 11 wine labels, including Chardonnay, Graševina, Yellow Muscat, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pušipel, Riesling, Green Silvaner, and Sauvignon Blanc. The estate also features a cozy tasting room with seating for around fifty guests, ideal for wine gatherings in a warm, family-friendly setting.
