Podrum Mladina Winery

In 2021, Podrum Mladina was acquired by Zagreb entrepreneur Žara Malić and his family. This move marked a turning point for the winery, which began heading in a new direction. After Žara Malić and his son-in-law Danijel Šarušić thoroughly analyzed the state of the vineyards in Plešivica and studied positive examples from neighboring wineries, they consulted with renowned viticulture and enology experts and made important decisions for further development.
The winery now spans 49 hectares of vineyards, with an additional eight hectares of currently unused terraces that will soon be planted with vines. They cultivate varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Portugieser, Riesling, Traminac, and Pinot Gris. Under the Erdoro brand, they recently launched three wines from the 2021 vintage. The name Erdoro comes from the surname of the noble Erdödy family, who started commercial wine production in Plešivica in 1736. Erdoro represents the new line of wines from Podrum Mladina, while their sparkling wines will carry the name Terra Falconis, which is the most ambitious part of their vision. In addition to the owners, two key professionals are instrumental to the success of this ambitious project: Eric Moro, a renowned French viticulture expert who transitioned the entire large Provence-based Minuty to organic production, and Milan Budinski, a respected Croatian enologist.
