About winery
Polovanec Winery is located in the Prigorje settlement of Đurđekovec, and the family vineyard spans 2.5 hectares. Currently, a total of 14 grape varieties are planted, including nine red and five white. Among the red wines, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cuvée Krč stand out, with the latter being a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, named after the location of the vineyards. This wine is one of the family’s favorites.
The Polovanec family began its winemaking tradition with previous generations, and father Stjepan and son Miroslav continued it. Initially, winemaking was more of a hobby, and wine was sold only in cafes. However, after a trip to Austria, where they saw how small producers sell wine directly from their homes, they decided to expand their family business. The wines of the Polovanec family have won numerous awards and gained the admiration of wine enthusiasts. In addition to the winery, the family owns a hotel with 12 double rooms and six triple rooms.
