Štampar Winery

Štampar Winery carries a century-old winemaking tradition that began on June 27, 1913, when master Ištvan Grabar and winemaker Andraš Novak raised their glasses to toast the completed fresco above the cellar entrance in Sveti Urban. The wine story at number 2 still lives on today. A key milestone came in 1928 when Bolfenk Štampar married into the Novak family and introduced the first single-varietal wines. Since then, a passion for the vine has become the foundation of the family legacy, passed down through generations.
From humble beginnings—with only 3,000 vines, an old Croatian oak press from 1927, and a few worn barrels—the winery has grown into a respected producer in a demanding market. In 1986, Bojan Štampar took over the estate and shifted it entirely toward viticulture and winemaking. In 1991, the winery launched its first bottled wines, Graševina and Yellow Muscat, under the Bojan Štampar label. In 2014, his son David Štampar assumed leadership and invested in a significant cellar expansion.
Today, on ten hectares in the Međimurje wine region—on the slopes of Sveti Urban and Krpec in Robadje—flourish varieties such as pušipel, graševina, green sylvaner, chardonnay, pinot gris, riesling, yellow muscat, sauvignon, cabernet sauvignon, and gamay. The winery produces wines from regular, late, selected dried berries, and ice harvests.
White wine labels include: Pinot Sivi, Chardonnay, Pušipel, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muškat Žuti. Red wine is represented through the blend Urban Red (60% gamay, 40% cabernet sauvignon). The winery also produces two sparkling wine labels using the traditional method: Urban White (100% moslavac, also known as šipon, mosler, or furmint) and Urban Rosé (100% cabernet sauvignon). The range of predicate wines includes: Graševina Izborna Berba 2007, Graševina Izborna Berba Prošušenih Bobica, and Pušipel Prestige Ledeno Vino.
Štampar Winery places great emphasis on wine tourism and hosts highly visited tastings and events each spring and summer at Mađerkin breg, a scenic hill just a few meters below the highest point in Međimurje, offering a unique wine experience.
