Tomac Winery

Tomac Winery, located in the picturesque wine region of Bregovita Hrvatska, in Donja Reka near Jastrebarsko, has over 200 years of family winemaking tradition. For the past 30 years, it has been one of the first wineries in Croatia specializing in the production of sparkling wines and has become synonymous with quality and innovation in the wine industry. Zvonimir Tomac began bottling wine in 1987 with his own label and controlled geographical origin. Today, his son Tomislav Tomac continues this tradition, continuously improving viticulture practices. In 2007, the winery was one of the first in Croatia to start producing macerated orange wines, which age in traditional Georgian-style clay amphorae buried in the ground on a special terroir called Marani.
Tomac Winery uses natural methods in wine production – without herbicides, selected yeasts, or aromas. Since 2019, all vineyards, which now cover around ten hectares, have been converted to biodynamic cultivation under the guidance of Italian consultants. The new winery, covering around 500 m², is an architectural masterpiece and won the prestigious Plan Award in Milan in the production buildings category. Tomac winery is also a pioneer globally in aging sparkling wines in amphorae, a technique recognized by Decanter as one of the best in the world.
Their sparkling wines, including „Diplomat – Brut Nature“, „Amfora – Brut Nature“, „Millenium – Extra Brut“, „Blanc De Noirs – Extra Brut“, and „Rosé – Extra Brut“, represent the pinnacle of winemaking, while the „Rockstar“ label, made from the Riesling variety, has become a recognizable symbol of their excellence. Additionally, the „Marany“ concept has become a symbol of terroir wines that follow the logic of the harvest. For example, if the 2022 harvest of Traminer provided exceptional grapes, the „Marany“ from that year will be vinified from Traminer. „Ivi Marany“, an expressive red-tinged Pinot Gris, blends intense fruit flavors, sparkling freshness, and a strong aristocratic wine character, leaving a lasting impression on any wine lover.
