Vinia Winery

On the beautiful hills near the town of Bjelovar, in the small suburban village of Puričani, lies the “Vinia” Wine Estate and Wine Bar, a family-run venture by the Šapić family. The family consists of Livia, Laura, mother Tajana, and father Saša, who together passionately manage this wine destination, located just four kilometers from the town, in the direction of Đurđevac. The vineyards stretch alongside the village, offering a stunning panoramic view of Bjelovar and the lush forests of the Bjelovar–Bilogora region. Planted on the gentle southern slopes of Bilogora, the vineyards span four locations with a total area of 8.5 hectares and 34,000 vines. The most planted varieties are Riesling and Graševina, followed by smaller plots of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Traminer, and Yellow Muscat. The first hectare was planted in 2005, followed by additional plantings in 2007, 2009, and 2010, completing the vineyard development. Today, Vinia produces approximately 30,000 liters of wine annually, with an even split between dry and semi-dry/semi-sweet wines. The winery offers six wine labels, all crafted and aged in a modern wine cellar. The cellar includes a main room with inox tanks ranging from 40 to 9,000 liters, where maceration, fermentation, and storage take place under controlled conditions. A smaller section houses oak barrique barrels, a wine archive, and a wine bank—secure lockers for wine storage, available to passionate collectors. An integral part of the cellar is a small wine shop, where all wines can be purchased in bottles, some in one-liter formats, or as bulk wine sold by the liter.
