Bastian Winery

Bastian Winery, one of the youngest wineries in Istria, emerged on the Croatian wine scene in 2021, founded by Zagreb natives Petra and Ivan Leko. Their desire was to establish a vineyard and olive grove in Istria, and they chose Buje due to the beautiful landscape of the Buje hills.
The winery is named after Saint Sebastian, one of the patrons of Buje. They purchased the vineyards from winemaker Ireneo Celega, who now works as the head viticulturist, and they hired Milan Budinski as a wine production consultant. Today, they cultivate 30 hectares of vineyards around Buje on white soil, with the best locations at the micro-locations of Kaštanjari and Cupiga, at an altitude of 95 to 170 meters. The vineyards are organically managed, with Istrian Malvasia dominating.
The winery and elegant tasting room are located in Buje, where, in addition to wines, you can also taste their extra virgin olive oil and homemade brandies.
