Bernobić Winery

The story of Bernobić wines began in 1898 in the small Istrian village of Markovac, near Višnjan, an area known since ancient times for its beautiful vineyards and fine wines. At that time, the family worked 20 hectares of land, which they purchased from locals, investing all their effort and earnings into the vineyard and olive groves.
While they once produced up to 400 hectoliters of wine, the majority of their production was exported to Trieste and Ljubljana, which were their main markets until the agrarian reform, when the state took their vineyards and olive groves, leaving them with only 5 hectares of vineyards.
Despite this, the tradition of producing premium wines was carried on by the sons, and in 1994, they won their first gold medal at Vinistra. Since then, they have received numerous awards at international and world competitions, with the silver medal at Decanter in London being a highlight.
Recently, they decided to elevate their production, and thanks to new technology, they can now produce 20,000 bottles of high-quality Istrian wine. Their range includes traditional macerated Malvasia, Teran, Refosco, Chardonnay, Muscat Rose, Muscat Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Rosso Classic.
