Clai Winery

Clai Winery is a prominent winery located in the small istrian village of Krasica, near the town of Buje. Their vineyards stretch across 5 hectares of land, situated at an elevation of 200 meters, blessed with abundant sunshine.
The winery was founded by the charismatic winemaker Giorgio Clai, who, unfortunately, recently had to pass on his long standing work due to health issues. Nevertheless, his passion for wine and the quality of the wines remain undeniable. Clai Winery adopts an organic approach to grape growing and wine production, preferring natural methods with minimal intervention, resulting in authentic flavors in their wines.
In their diverse wine selection, they feature indigenous varieties such as Istrian Malvasia, Teran, and Refosco, alongside internationally renowned varieties such as Pinot Gris, Merlot and Chardonnay. Clai Winery also produces high-quality olive oil.
Although Clai Winery may now be under new ownership, it continues to cherish Giorgio Clai’s legacy and produce exceptional wines that reflect the character and terroir of the istrian region.
