About winery
The Coslovich family’s winemaking tradition has been passed down through generations, starting with their oldest ancestors. What began as wine production solely for personal use has now grown into a venture that supplies wines to numerous businesses and wine lovers across the region.
The Coslovich family lives in and originates from the small Istrian village of Čepić, located in the municipality of Oprtalj, just one kilometer from Šterna and near the well-known town of Motovun. Surrounded by unspoiled nature, peace, and quiet, they have found the ideal conditions for viticulture and winemaking. The rich, fertile Istrian soil, together with their carefully tended vines, yields the best that nature can offer.
Coslovich wines are produced using entirely natural methods – with minimal sulfur addition and fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Their range features seven wine labels, with a focus on two of Istria’s most prominent varieties – Malvasia and Teran. Every step of the process, from vineyard work to the final bottled product, is done by hand, without the use of machinery. Attention to detail, dedication, and a deep love for the vine are evident throughout. A new vineyard was recently planted in a carefully selected location at 475 meters above sea level, above the village of Čepić. In addition to offering a stunning view over the Istrian landscape, this location provides excellent conditions for growing high-quality grapes.
Alongside grapevines, the Coslovich family also cultivates their own olives, producing premium quality homemade olive oil. Furthermore, for over 30 years, the family business has been engaged in the collection and sale of truffles and truffle-based products, further enriching their offering and contributing to the preservation of Istrian heritage.
