In Sylvis Winery

Sveti Petar u Šumi is a village in central Istria, known for its centuries-old tradition of agriculture and turkey farming. Although there aren’t many wineries, the standout is the “garage” winery “In Sylvis,” which means “in the forest” in Latin.
This winery was founded in 2014 by husband and wife Lara and Marko Zgrablić. Today, they cultivate four hectares of vineyards on the rugged red soil around Sveti Petar, with varieties including Istrian Malvasia, Teran, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. They are present on the market with seven wine labels and have already received numerous domestic and international awards for their wines.
In the center of the village is their “garage” winery, while a few hundred meters away is a modern tasting room open all year round. The tasting room offers a variety of pairings of their wines with local cured meat specialties, as well as more elaborate eno-gastronomic experiences such as dinners by appointment.
