About winery
Located in the picturesque village of Momjan in Istria, the Kozlović Winery is a symbol of excellence in Croatian winemaking. Founded in 1904, the winery has been passed down through four generations of the Kozlović family and is currently led by Gianfranco and Antonella Kozlović.
Kozlović Winery primarily cultivates indigenous grape varieties, such as Istrian Malvasia, Teran, and Momjan Muscat. In addition to these native varieties, they also grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Merlot. These are cultivated across three vineyards named Vale, Santa Lucia, and Contarini, covering around 30 hectares of land located on the western part of Istria, oriented south and southwest.
The Santa Lucia vineyard occupies the largest portion of the estate, spanning 25 hectares at an elevation of 240 meters above sea level.
Kozlović Winery offers a diverse range of wines that reflect the unique character of Istria. Santa Lucia is one of the winery’s most renowned wines, celebrated for its exceptional quality and distinctive character. Santa Lucia Malvasia 2001 won the award for the best wine in the world at the prestigious “The Library Collection” competition, and Santa Lucia Malvasia 2017 received the Decanter Platinum award with an impressive 97 points. Santa Lucia Noir, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Teran, won a gold medal in 2008 at the International Wine Challenge (IWC).
The winery’s 2,200-square-meter space spans three floors, where visitors can enjoy guided tours of the vineyards and cellars, followed by tastings of their exceptional wines. The winery also hosts events and workshops, offering guests an immersive experience in the world of Istrian winemaking.
