Legovina Winery

The tradition of winemaking in the Legović family began in 1937 in the village of Mekiši near Kaštelir. Anton Legović planted the first vineyard, later inherited by his son Albino. In the 1990s, the winery was taken over by Albino’s son Valter, who elevated it to a higher level. Today, Valter’s son Marko, also a trained oenologist, is gradually assuming control. The culmination of their family’s work is a newly opened modern cellar with all the necessary facilities. They currently cultivate 12 hectares of vineyards on deep red soil at elevations ranging from 150 to 250 meters.
Their vineyards are dominated by Istrian Malvasia, along with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat, and the black varieties Teran, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. They market twelve wine labels categorized into Perlata, Fresca, Matura, and their star cuvée wines Nobile Blanc and Nobile Noir.
