Marčeta Winery

Marčeta family Winery cherishes a tradition in agriculture dating back over a hundred years to 1923 when Josip Marčeta moved from Barbanština to Valbandon, focusing on grapevine cultivation. In the early 1990s, Dario Marčeta elevated the estate, earning their first gold medal for istrian malvasia at Vinistra in 1996. Today, production has reached even greater heights, supported by Dario’s successful sons Ivan and Luka in business. The Marčeta family now cultivates six hectares of their own vineyards on deep red soil in Valbandon, while also sourcing grapes from trusted partners. Leading varieties include Istrian Malvasia and Teran, followed by Merlot, Refosco, and Cabernet Sauvignon. They offer eight wine labels, alongside a variety of spirits, liqueurs, and olive oil. Their modern cellar with a tasting room is located in Valbandon, and Marčeta wines are available in numerous wine bars and restaurants throughout Istria.
