About winery
Prelac Winery is one of five wineries producing Muscat Momjan. The Prelac family has been involved in winemaking for over a hundred years, but the modern history of the winery dates back to 1996 when Rino Prelac opened a small wine cellar. Their wines were primarily sold at the family tavern adjacent to the cellar. Today, Prelac Winery cultivates 11 hectares of vineyards on white soil around Momjan, with Rino’s son Denis also managing the business.
The winery offers around ten wine labels, with their flagship wines being fresh Istrian Malvasia and aged Refosco, which has won numerous awards. They also produce two versions of muscat: fresh Muscat Momjan and “Gregorio” made as a passito. In addition to their excellent tavern, which has been among the best in Istria for many years, the winery also offers rooms named after their wines: Istrian Malvasia, Muscat Momjan, and Refosco.
