Zigante Winery

At the beginning of the village of Kostanjica, nestled on the slopes below the historic town of Grožnjan with a view of the Mirna River Valley, lies Stancija Koraca, where the Zigante family has resided for over a hundred years. Today, the winery is successfully run by siblings Denis and Valentina Zigante, the fourth generation of winemakers in the family, who took over the business from their parents, Duilio and Mirjana, after they retired. The winery is situated on a beautiful southwest slope, surrounded by their own vineyards and olive groves.
Within the winery, there is a rustic tasting room connected to the old cellar, where large wooden barrels crafted by their great-grandfather Giovanin are stored. Today, the Zigantes cultivate around 15 hectares of vineyards and are present on the market with eight wine labels. The backbone of their production consists of indigenous grape varieties, Istrian Malvasia and Teran, but they also achieve excellent results with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and White Muscat.
