Buhač Winery

Buhač Winery, located in Ilok, has been producing premium wines since 1998. It cultivates 20 hectares of vineyards, with 16 hectares dedicated to white varieties and 4 hectares to red. The vineyards are situated in prestigious locations such as Radoš, Lišćak, Božino Brdo, Ciglana, Principovac, Zaravan, Dekan, and Široka Šuma, near the Danube. The winery takes special pride in its Graševina, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Additionally, it grows other white varieties such as Rhein Riesling, Traminac, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Blanc. Red varieties include Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. From the very beginning, the winery has used controlled fermentation, while red wines mature in oak barrels to achieve rich flavors and aromas. To ensure premium quality, yields are limited to less than 8 tons per hectare. The latest pride of the winery is the late-harvest wine line – Crna and Bijela Šuma, made from Gamay and Graševina. The name was inspired by the vineyard’s location, nestled among linden and acacia forests on the Ilok slopes. The label design reflects the unique Ilok soil—fertile loess, which has supported viticulture since the 3rd century. Buhač Winery was founded by Ivan Buhač and his son Domagoj, who have transformed their passion for viticulture into a successful wine making story, respecting tradition while embracing innovation.
