Enosophia Winery

Enosophia is a new brand of premium Slavonian wines, born from the long-standing tradition of the Feričanci wine region and a commitment to creating a unique wine story. Developed as a natural evolution of the Feravino brand, Enosophia offers consumers added value, not only through high-quality wines but also through a holistic approach to the brand. The historical cellar, dating back to 1804, exudes authentic charm and is primarily dedicated to aging top-quality red wines. Behind this successful winery stands a young and passionate oenological duo, Lucija and Martin Kovačević, who carefully nurture vineyards in prestigious locations: Goveđa Glava, Srednjak, and Mataruge. The Mataruge vineyard spans 26 hectares and is distinguished by its diverse grape varieties, including Blaufränkisch (Frankovka), Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Syrah, Gamay, and Merlot. It is maintained using an ecological approach, avoiding herbicides, while vine shoots are manually nurtured to ensure an exceptional harvest. Goveđa Glava covers 19 hectares and is home to Graševina, with vines over 35 years old. With excellent southern exposure, this vineyard is also ideal for growing Merlot. The grape quality is further enhanced through carefully managed defoliation and selective yield reduction. Srednjak, spanning 16 hectares, is known as the home of Feričanci Blaufränkisch. The loamy soil and all-day sun exposure create perfect conditions for this variety. Thoughtfully oriented vineyards ensure optimal sunlight exposure, contributing to the rich aroma and character of the wine. Across 156 hectares of vineyards, Graševina and Blaufränkisch are the most prominent varieties, with the latter covering over 43 hectares. Thanks to modern technology, precise viticultural practices, and collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture in Zagreb, Enosophia conducts clonal selection to preserve and enhance its renowned Blaufränkisch.
The winery offers four labels of sparkling wines and three distinctive lines of still wines:
Moderna Vina – a collection of four labels, featuring a contemporary style and exceptional freshness.
Miraz & Terroir – four labels that reflect the authentic characteristics of the vineyards.
Dika – a wine line that tells a rich story of Slavonian tradition, inspired by the majestic oak forests and cultural heritage of the region. A special tribute is dedicated to Dora Pejačević, whose elegance and strength inspired a wine honoring bold women.
Enosophia achieved remarkable success at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2023, winning the highest number of medals in Croatia—13 in total, including six wines rated over 90 points. Among the award-winning wines are Miraz Frankovka 2019, Goveđa Glava Graševina 2020, Miraz Cabernet Franc 2018, Trs No. 5 2022, Miraz Syrah 2018, and Dika Frankovka 2019. With the opening of a new cellar in 2020, Enosophia seamlessly blends tradition and modernity. Oak barrels crafted from locally sourced wood symbolize a deep connection to nature and terroir. Beyond exceptional wines, the winery offers a unique tourism experience with wine tastings, gourmet specialties, and adventurous tours along the Wine Road.
