Galić Winery

Galić Winery is located in the heart of Kutjevo, within Vallis Aurea, the cradle of Croatian viticulture and winemaking. With 60 hectares of its own vineyards, it spans prestigious locations: Radovanci, Kaptol, Podgorje, Venje, Vetovo, Češljakovci, and the Brodski Stupnik area, known as Stupnik. Here, top-quality grape varieties are cultivated: Graševina, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Carmenere, Pinot Gris, Yellow Muscat, Syrah, Zelenac, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Manzoni Bianco. From an early age, Josip Galić was closely connected to vineyards—by the age of seven, he was already helping his family, unknowingly laying the foundation for his future passion. Although he later ventured into entrepreneurship outside viticulture, his love for wine never faded. Recognizing the potential of his homeland, he decided to make a lasting impact in the wine world. The Galić family has been living and creating wine for generations, with vineyards always being an integral part of their life story. Josip’s grandfather, Rudolf, cultivated vines in Mamići, Herzegovina, where his 300 vines were considered a true treasure for the region. The tradition was continued by Josip’s parents, Stjepan and Anica, who in 1970 purchased their first vineyard on the slopes of Požeška Gora. Six years later, they acquired a hectare of the renowned “Lerman Vineyard,” situated near the chapel of St. Vitus above Požega. They tended this vineyard with love, producing around 10,000 liters of wine annually. His dedication, effort, and vision led to the creation of one of the most modern wineries in the region. In Kutjevo, the capital of Graševina, the winery covers an area of 3,300 m²—a symbol of hard work and the creation of premium wines. Today, Galić Winery offers around twenty wine labels, many of which have received prestigious awards, including Decanter medals. In addition to producing top-quality wines, this remarkable winery also hosts wine and gastronomic tastings, offering visitors a unique experience of the region’s rich enological tradition.
