Jakovac Winery

Jakovac Winery was founded almost 40 years ago, long before it officially received its current name. Its founder, the grandfather of Ognjen and Ozren Jakovac, established it in his hometown, driven by a desire to contribute to his region and take advantage of the ideal conditions of the southern slopes of the Dalj Mountain. In 1993, Draženko Jakovac took over the winery, and in 2015, he passed it on to his sons, Ognjen and Ozren, who now passionately continue the family tradition, expanding on their grandfather’s vision. Despite challenges and risks, the brothers boldly entered the world of winemaking, successfully positioning their wines on the market. A key element of this successful wine story is the vineyard’s micro-location. The Erdut wine region, surrounded on three sides by the mighty Danube, creates perfect conditions for vine cultivation. Over the years, the winery has evolved from a simple wine cellar into a true small factory of unique flavors. They cultivate varieties such as Graševina, Chardonnay, Traminac, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their wines are divided into four lines: “Premium Aged,” “Premium,” “Fresh,” and “Sparkling,” with a total of eight labels. Among them, “La Diva” stands out, a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 12 months in oak barrels and an additional 9 months in the bottle, as well as “Chardonnay Mystique,” crafted using the sur lie method and aged in oak for a full 10 months.
