Knezović Winery

The Knezović family wine story began in 1951, when they planted their first vineyards with a modest 600 vines. Over the years, the number of vines grew, and knowledge was passed down through generations. By 1990, the family was collaborating as a cooperative partner of Iločki podrumi, while also producing small quantities of wine for personal use. With the legalization of independent winemaking, they officially launched their controlled wine production in 2001. This large family of seven members started with just 1 hectare of vineyards, but through years of dedication and hard work, expanded to today’s 9 hectares, cultivating 45,000 vines. Their first bottled wines with a proprietary label and geographical origin designation were introduced to the market in 2003. Today, Vinarija Knezović produces around 50,000 liters of wine annually, with a cellar capacity of 70,000 liters. Among white grape varieties, the most prominent is Graševina, followed by Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and the renowned Iločki Traminac. For red varieties, they produce Frankovka, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The winery offers a total of 8 wine labels. Vinarija Knezović skillfully blends tradition with modern winemaking technology, following global industry trends. Beyond viticulture and winemaking, the family is also engaged in rural tourism. At “Izletište i vinotočje Ana,” visitors can enjoy wine tastings and direct sales of premium wines. Guests can also savor local culinary specialties, lovingly prepared and served by the hosts. The tasting room accommodates 120 guests indoors and 150 guests in the covered outdoor area, providing an unforgettable gastronomic and wine experience amid the vineyards.
