Magistra Winery is a young and ambitious family winery founded in 2018. The Pavić family, originally dedicated to education, had long produced wine for personal use, but their passion for winemaking inspired them to step into the market. Hrvoje Pavić, the owner of the winery, is a historian and a passionate advocate of Erdut’s wine heritage, enriching the winery’s identity with his knowledge. With their first harvest in 2017, they quickly attracted the attention of the wine community, marking the beginning of their winemaking journey. Their vineyard is located in the Varod area, where they cultivate Graševina on a one-hectare plot. In addition to their own vines, they source Zweigelt and Merlot from trusted growers. Guided by a philosophy of quality and tradition, the winery plans to expand its offerings and invest further in the future. One of their most significant projects is the construction of a tasting room with a panoramic view of the Danube, allowing visitors to enjoy premium wines in the unique landscape of Erdut. Their selection includes Graševina, Rosé from Zweigelt, Yellow Muscat, Merlot, and Chardonnay barrique, all from the carefully nurtured 2018 vintage.

Hrvoje Pavić

Hrvoje Pavić lives in Čepin and holds a master’s degree in history education and Croatian language and literature. He works as a primary school teacher in Osijek, but his passion for wine developed through his role as a marketing and public relations associate at Erdutski Vinogradi d.o.o. His introduction to the world of wine inspired him to start his own winery with his family. Since the Pavić family consists of educators, and his sister Sara is a primary school teacher, the name “Vina Magistra” was a natural choice, reflecting their deep connection to education and knowledge.
