Papak Winery

The family winery Papak Ilok, founded in 2014, is based on many years of experience in viticulture and winemaking. At its helm is Mladen Papak, a graduate agronomist, longtime oenologist, and former director of Iločki Podrumi. After parting ways with his former winery, he started his own grape and wine production. The winery owns 13 hectares of vineyards located on the Radoš site, the easternmost wine-growing area of Ilok and all of Croatia. These slopes of Fruška Gora, with their southern and southwestern exposures and all-day sun exposure, allow the vines to reach their full potential, resulting in top-quality grapes and wines. At the heart of the vineyards is the winery with a tasting room, built on the site of the owner’s former family home. From a childhood spent in the vineyard to studying agronomy and founding his own winery, the love for vines and wine has grown into a family tradition, now continued by his son Karlo, also a graduate agronomist. The vineyards were planted between 2001 and 2010 and include six grape varieties. Among the white varieties, Graševina is dominant, accompanied by the well-known Ilok Traminac, Rhine Riesling, and Chardonnay. The red varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The wine selection includes white varietal wines such as Graševina Classic, Graševina Radosh, Traminac Radosh, Rhine Riesling Radosh, and Chardonnay Radosh. The winery also offers a red blend, Cabernet Sauvignon – Cabernet Franc Radosh, as well as a refreshing Opolo (Rosé) made exclusively from Cabernet Franc. A passion for winemaking has led to an expanded portfolio featuring two sparkling wines – Radosh White, made from Chardonnay, and Radosh Rose, crafted from Cabernet Franc. The winery also prides itself on producing exquisite predicate wines, including Graševina Selection of Dried Berries 2015 and Traminac Ice Harvest 2016. To provide guests with a complete experience of flavors and tradition, the winery offers expertly guided tastings in a modernly equipped tasting room, where fine wines are perfectly paired with homemade gourmet delicacies.
