Trs Winery

Winery Trs from Ilok was founded in 2006 when Marijo Faletar and Zlatko Bošnjak merged their family estates and decided to produce wine themselves. Their first cellar was located in Marijo’s family home, but as production grew, it soon became too small. By 2007, the winery had increased its capacity to 80,000 liters, and in 2009, it moved to a new location with the support of strategic partner Ilija Tokić. During this period, Faletar and Bošnjak decided to formalize their business and established an agricultural cooperative. Initially, it consisted of the two of them and their wives, but over time, it grew into a serious collective that now has 16 members. Currently, Winery Trs cultivates 60 hectares of vineyards, while the cooperative as a whole manages 70 hectares in prestigious locations of the Srijem wine region: Dekan, Veliko Brdo, Principovac, Vukovo, Rađevac, and Radoš. Thanks to favorable climatic conditions, an altitude of 200 to 250 meters, and well-drained soil on a loess base, the vineyards produce grapes of exceptional quality, which are then crafted into outstanding wines. Today, the winery’s capacity reaches 550,000 liters, with an annual production of between 300,000 and 350,000 liters of wine. The assortment consists of premium wines, with Graševina and Traminac standing out as the pride of the cellar, protected as top-quality wines. In addition, they cultivate Chardonnay, Rhine Riesling, Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. In total, the winery offers 19 wine labels. A unique feature of the winery is that it does not use barrique barrels, believing that they would take away the varietal distinctiveness of the wines. With a winemaking tradition dating back to Roman times, the Srijem wine region today covers 1,500 hectares. Winery Trs continues this rich heritage, combining knowledge, passion, and dedication to creating wines that captivate wine lovers across Croatia and the world.
